Now I've seen Saturday's race, and Al Luddington on YouTube, of course I agree 100% with Luddington. On YouTube when Page says, "I'm part of it. It doesn't matter." That's when he loses any claim to "I held my line." It's binary. Page is either "part of" racing for a win or he's holding his line. If it's a parade, then it doesn't matter if Page is 26th in line. But it's a race. A Pro race. Page is supposed to be a "professional racer." All DMG's screw ups, this one they got 100% right.

I think the youtube video is Luddington's version of "they don't pay me enough to ride this bike." Especially after Ulrich's July 17 editorial. How do I know the video was uploaded with DMG approval? Because Ulrich published the link to it.

Metro Crash May Exemplify Paradox of Human-Machine Interaction - washingtonpost.com: "making automated systems safer leads to a paradox at the heart of all human-machine interactions: 'The better you make the automation, the more difficult it is to guard against these catastrophic failures in the future, because the automation becomes more and more powerful, and you rely on it more and more.' ...the manner in which machines provide feedback is important. When they are 'polite' -- waiting until a human operator has responded to one issue before interrupting with another, for example -- improved human-machine relationships produce measurable safety improvements that rival technological leaps."
