Reading this month's American Motorcyclist magazine, I don't think Wood and Harrison were fired. I think they quit because they didn't want to be associated with this level of stupidity.

EDMONDSON v. AMERICAN MOTORCYCLE ASSOC PDF File. "In late 1993,
Tom Mueller, a vice president of the AMA, directed Roy Janson, the
then head of the AMA’s racing department, to prepare a memorandum
regarding how the AMA could effect a secret takeover of
Edmondson’s interest in the 1994 joint venture. Janson had completed
and submitted the requested memorandum by the end of December
1993. In early April 1994, the AMA implemented the secret takeover
plan outlined in Janson’s memorandum with a few revisions."

When Janson prepared the memorandum, did he expect the AMA would be successful in carrying out the plan? Or did Janson create the memorandum knowing the plan would fail?

Either way, it is interesting that Janson is reported to be joining with Edmondson to manage AMA roadracing.

Cycle News Online: "The plan under consideration was to run motocross races at NASCAR Sprint Cup facilities, but a clause in the AMA’s contract with Live Nation prevents anyone from promoting motocross races in facilities with more than 32,000 fixed seats."

So now the plan is to run Superbike races at NASCAR Sprint Cup facilities.
